How to Add Conditional Fields to Your Zibster Form

Overview

Conditional fields allow you to create smarter, more personalized forms by displaying specific fields based on a user’s selection. This helps keep your forms clean and relevant, only showing additional questions when needed.

For example, if a client selects a specific service, you can display follow-up questions related only to that service.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure:

  • You have at least one form created in Zibster
  • Your form includes a Drop Down Menu, Radio Select, or Checkbox field (conditional logic only works with these field types)

STEP ONE

Log into your Zibster account and click on FORMS in the left-side menu.

STEP TWO

Click on the form you want to edit, or create a new form.

If you have multiple forms, use the search bar to quickly find the correct form by name.

STEP THREE

Locate the Drop Down Menu, Radio Select, or Checkbox field where you want to apply conditional logic.

Click the Pencil Icon to edit the field.

In the field editor, click Advanced.

STEP FOUR

Click on the specific choice title (the option that will trigger additional fields).

STEP FIVE

Under Conditional Fields, click the dropdown menu and select the field(s) you want to display when that choice is selected.

Click Add Field to apply it and then save changes.

Repeat this process for each choice that should trigger its own conditional field(s).

STEP SIX (OPTIONAL)

Test your form on your live website.

After saving your changes, open the form on your website and complete a test submission.

Conditional fields will remain hidden until the triggering option is selected, then appear automatically.

Additional Notes

  • Conditional fields help reduce form clutter and improve user experience
  • You can assign different conditional fields to different choices within the same field
  • If a conditional field is not appearing, confirm it has been properly assigned under the correct choice
  • Conditional logic only works when the triggering field type is Drop Down Menu, Radio Select, or Checkbox
