How to Reorder Pages in Your Website Navigation
Overview
You can use drag and drop in the Zibster Website Builder to change the order of your website pages and other navigation items. You can also rearrange items inside an existing drop-down menu or move items into and out of a drop-down menu. Changes to your navigation are saved automatically.
Prerequisites
Use a desktop or laptop computer with a mouse or trackpad. Drag-and-drop navigation editing is not supported on phones or tablet touchscreens.
STEP ONE
Log in to your Zibster account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu. The Website Builder will open automatically.
Your pages, links, and drop-down menus appear on the left side of the Website Builder.
STEP TWO
Move your pointer over the page or navigation item you want to reposition. Click the item and continue holding down your mouse button or trackpad.
The item will become faded in its original location, and a small preview of the item will follow your pointer. Continue holding down the mouse button or trackpad while you move it.
STEP THREE
While continuing to hold down your mouse button or trackpad, slowly move the item up or down through the navigation.
Watch for the horizontal placement line that appears between the navigation items. This line shows where the item will be placed when you release it.
Continue moving your pointer until the placement line appears in the exact location where you want the item to go. Do not release the item yet.
FINAL STEP
Release your mouse button or trackpad when the placement line appears in the correct location. The item will move from its faded original position to the selected location.
Your changes are saved automatically. There is no SAVE button when reordering your website navigation.
The order shown in the Website Builder determines the order visitors see in your website navigation.
Moving an Item Into a Drop-Down Menu
A drop-down menu must already exist before you can move a page or link into it.
Open the drop-down menu in the Website Builder so you can see the pages and links inside it. Click and hold the item you want to move, and then drag it toward the open drop-down menu.
Continue holding the item until:
- The drop-down menu becomes highlighted.
- A horizontal placement line appears inside the drop-down menu.
- The folder preview follows your pointer.
Move the item up or down until the placement line appears in the exact location where you want it. Release the item only after the placement line appears inside the drop-down menu.
The page or link will appear inside the drop-down menu, and your change will be saved automatically.

Reordering Items Inside a Drop-Down Menu
Open the drop-down menu so you can see the pages and links inside it.
Click and hold the item you want to move. Drag it up or down inside the drop-down menu while watching the placement line.
Release the item when the placement line appears in the correct location. Your change is saved automatically.
Moving an Item Out of a Drop-Down Menu
Click and hold the page or link inside the drop-down menu. Drag it outside the drop-down menu and toward the desired location in the main navigation.
Watch the placement line carefully. Release the item when the line appears between the top-level navigation items rather than between the items inside the drop-down menu.
Tips for Using Drag and Drop
- Click the item and continue holding down your mouse button or trackpad throughout the entire movement.
- Look for the small preview that follows your pointer. This confirms that you are dragging the item.
- Use the horizontal placement line to determine exactly where the item will be placed.
- Move slowly when positioning an item, especially when working with drop-down menus.
- Release the item only when the placement line appears in the desired location.
- If the item returns to its original position, try again and wait for the placement line before releasing it.
- Reordering a page changes its position in the navigation. It does not change the page’s content or URL.
- If the item remains in the main navigation, try again and make sure the drop-down menu is highlighted and the placement line appears inside it before releasing the item.
- All navigation changes are saved automatically.
