How to Update Global Arrow Settings for Slideshows and Carousels on Your Zibster Website
Overview
The Arrows setting in the Zibster Website Builder controls the appearance of the left and right navigation arrows used with supported slideshow and carousel layouts throughout your website.
You can choose from four arrow styles to match the overall design of your website. Because this is a global Website Builder setting, your selected arrow style is used anywhere a supported block layout displays navigation arrows.
This guide walks you through finding the Arrows setting, choosing a style, and applying it to your Zibster website.
STEP ONE
Log in to your Zibster account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
This opens the Website control panel, where you can manage your website pages, content, and design settings.
STEP TWO
Mouse over DESIGN at the top center of the Website control panel.
This opens the available design options for your website.
STEP THREE
Click EDIT DESIGN SETTINGS.
This opens the global design settings used throughout your Zibster website.
STEP FOUR
Click GRAPHICS in the right-side menu.
Scroll below the Icons / Forms / Buttons settings until you reach the Arrows section.
Choose the arrow style you want to use.
The available styles are Point, Arrow, Circle, and Square.
FINAL STEP
Click Save to apply your selected arrow style.
Your new arrow style is now used throughout your website anywhere a supported slideshow or carousel layout displays navigation arrows. You do not need to update each block individually.
There is no separate publish step. Clicking Save applies the change to your website.
Where the Arrows Setting Applies
The global Arrows setting controls the appearance of navigation arrows used in supported Website Builder layouts that include slideshow or carousel navigation.
Supported layouts may be available in the following block types:
- Images Block
- Banner Block
- Services Block
- Products Block
- Mood Boards Block
The layouts available depend on the type of block you are using. If a selected layout displays left and right navigation arrows, the global Arrows setting determines how those arrows appear.
The List Block does not currently use the global Arrows setting.
Changing the Arrows setting does not add navigation arrows to a layout that does not already support them.
How Global Arrow Settings Work
The Arrows setting is part of your website's global design settings. This means you do not need to choose an arrow style separately for every page or block.
When you select a new arrow style and click Save, the change applies to existing supported layouts throughout your website as well as supported layouts you add later.
The global Arrows setting cannot be overridden for an individual page or block.
What the Arrows Setting Does Not Change
Changing the global Arrows setting does not change:
- The layout selected for a block
- The content displayed in the block
- The order of images, services, products, Mood Boards, or other items
- Whether a particular layout supports navigation arrows
- Slideshow or carousel behavior
The setting only changes the appearance of navigation arrows that are already part of the selected layout.
Helpful Notes
- Review your slideshow and carousel layouts after changing the arrow style to make sure the arrows are easy to see against your website content.
- The same global arrow style is used anywhere a supported layout displays navigation arrows.
- If you do not see arrows on a block, check the block's selected layout. Not every layout includes slideshow or carousel navigation.
- List Block layouts are not affected by the global Arrows setting.
- You can return to DESIGN → EDIT DESIGN SETTINGS → GRAPHICS at any time to choose a different arrow style.
- The Arrows setting is separate from Icons / Forms / Buttons, which controls other global graphic elements on your Zibster website.
- Clicking Save applies your changes to the website. There is no separate publish button.
