How to Submit Your Zibster Blog RSS Feed to Google Search Console
Overview
Your Zibster Blog automatically creates an RSS feed containing your recently published and updated blog posts. You can submit this feed to Google Search Console to help Google discover new blog content and confirm that it can access the feed.
This guide explains how to confirm your Zibster Blog RSS feed URL, submit it through the Google Search Console Sitemaps report, and review its status. Submitting your RSS feed gives Google an additional way to discover recent blog content, but it does not guarantee crawling, indexing, or search rankings.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
• An active Zibster Blog with at least one published post
• A verified Google Search Console property for your domain
• Owner permission for the Search Console property
Google requires Owner permission to submit an RSS feed through the Sitemaps report.
What Is the Zibster Blog RSS Feed?
An RSS feed is an automatically updated file that provides search engines and other services with information about your recent blog posts.
Your Zibster Blog RSS feed uses this format:
https://www.yourdomain.com/blog-rss
Replace yourdomain.com with your website’s domain name.
For example, if your website address is:
Your Blog RSS feed would be:
https://www.example.com/blog-rss
The Blog RSS feed complements your Zibster XML sitemap. Your XML sitemap provides information about eligible pages throughout your website, while the RSS feed focuses on recently published or updated blog posts.
The RSS feed does not replace your complete XML sitemap. You can submit both through Google Search Console.
STEP ONE
Open Google Search Console and sign in to the Google account connected to your website property.
Use the property selector near the top-left corner to select the property for your live Zibster website.
If you use a URL-prefix property, make sure it matches the complete HTTPS and www version of your website address.
For example, select:
https://www.yourdomain.com
Do not select an HTTP or non-www version unless that is the version used by your live website.
If you have not added and verified your website in Google Search Console, complete the verification process before continuing.
STEP TWO
Open a new browser tab and enter your complete Zibster Blog RSS feed URL:
https://www.yourdomain.com/blog-rss
Replace yourdomain.com with your website’s domain name.
Confirm that the feed opens without displaying a page-not-found message, password request, or other error. The feed must be publicly accessible so Google can retrieve it.
You can also copy the feed URL into the URL Inspection field at the top of Google Search Console. Click TEST LIVE URL, then confirm that Page fetch displays Successful.

STEP THREE
Return to Google Search Console and click SITEMAPS in the left-side menu.
Locate the Add a new sitemap section.
If Search Console displays your website address before the entry field, enter:
blog-rss
If the complete website address is not already displayed, enter the full feed URL:
https://www.yourdomain.com/blog-rss
Click SUBMIT.
Search Console will add the RSS feed to the Submitted sitemaps section. Google will then attempt to retrieve and process the feed. The status may not update immediately.
FINAL STEP
Review the RSS feed in the Submitted sitemaps section.
A Success status means Google retrieved and processed the feed without detecting an error.
The Last read column shows the most recent date Google processed the feed. This date does not show when Google crawled each individual blog post.
The Discovered pages total shows how many URLs Google found in the feed. This number may take time to appear or update.
You have successfully submitted your Zibster Blog RSS feed when it appears in the Submitted sitemaps section and displays a Success status.
What Happens After You Submit the Feed?
Zibster automatically updates your RSS feed when you publish or update blog content. You do not need to submit the feed again each time you publish a new post.
After Google successfully reads the feed, it may periodically check it for changes. Google determines when to process the feed and when to crawl the individual URLs it contains.
Submitting your Blog RSS feed can:
• Help Google discover recently published or updated blog posts
• Confirm whether Google can retrieve and process the feed
• Show the date Google last read the feed
• Report errors that prevent Google from processing the feed
Submitting an RSS feed does not guarantee that Google will crawl or index every included URL. It also does not guarantee that a blog post will appear in search results or receive a particular ranking.
Check an Individual Blog Post
The Sitemaps report provides information about the RSS feed as a whole. It does not provide the complete indexing status of every blog post.
To check a specific post, copy its full URL and paste it into the URL Inspection field at the top of Google Search Console.
The URL Inspection report can show whether Google has indexed the post and identify issues that may prevent indexing. You may also see an option to request indexing.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
The Feed Shows “Couldn’t Fetch”
Confirm that you submitted the correct feed URL and selected the correct Search Console property.
Open the feed in a browser and make sure it loads without a password request, page-not-found message, or other error.
Click the feed in the Sitemaps report to review the available error details. You can also test the feed using URL Inspection and confirm that Page fetch displays Successful.
Google may retry after a temporary connection or server error. If the error continues, correct the reported issue and submit the feed again.
The Feed Shows Zero Discovered Pages
The discovered page count may not update immediately after submission. Your Blog RSS feed also focuses on recent blog content rather than every page on your website.
Confirm that your Zibster Blog contains at least one published post, then allow Google time to process the feed.
A Blog Post Is Not Indexed
A successfully submitted RSS feed does not guarantee that every included blog post will be indexed.
Use URL Inspection to check the complete URL of the affected post. Review the indexing information and correct any issues shown in the report before requesting indexing.
The Wrong Domain Appears in Search Console
Use the property selector near the top-left corner of Google Search Console to select the property that matches your live website.
A URL-prefix property only includes URLs that match the selected protocol and domain format. For example, an https://www property does not include an HTTP or non-www version of the domain.
A Domain property includes supported protocols and subdomains associated with the domain.
Do I Need to Resubmit the Feed After Publishing a New Post?
No. Zibster automatically updates the RSS feed when you publish or update blog content.
Once the feed has been submitted successfully, you do not need to submit it again for each new post.
Does Submitting the Feed Guarantee Google Will Index My Posts?
No. Submitting the feed helps Google discover recent blog content, but Google decides which URLs to crawl and index.
You can use URL Inspection to check the indexing status of a specific blog post.
