How to Reconnect Your Square Account in Zibster
If you use Square to process credit or debit card payments in Zibster and originally connected your Square account before October 4, 2022, you will need to reconnect it. Reconnecting ensures you are using the latest Square integration, have the correct permissions enabled, and can access any new features. This process only takes a few minutes and does not affect past transactions.
How to Tell If You Need to Reconnect Square
The easiest way to determine whether your Square account needs to be reconnected is by checking for a Location ID in your Merchant Settings.
If no Location ID is listed, your Square account is using an older integration and must be reconnected to update to Square’s latest version.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
-
Access to your Zibster account
-
Login credentials for your Square account
-
Admin-level permissions in Square to approve third-party access
STEP ONE
Log In to Your Zibster Account and in the left-side menu, click ECOMMERCE.
STEP TWO
At the top of your ECommerce control panel, mouse over PAYMENT and click MERCHANTS in the drop down menu.
STEP THREE
Click directly on the name of your Square merchant account. In most accounts, this is labeled Credit Card – Square.
STEP FOUR
On the Square settings page, click the Reconnect button.
STEP FIVE
A new window will open prompting you to log in to your Square account.
When Square asks you to update permissions so Zibster can continue accessing your merchant information and process payments, click ALLOW to confirm.
You will see a confirmation message once the connection is successful.
FINAL STEP
Activate the Merchant and Save Changes
Return to your Zibster Merchant Settings and complete the following:
-
Set Active to YES
-
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page
If everything is set up correctly, you will see your Location ID listed on the merchant settings page. This confirms your Square account is reconnected, active, and using the latest integration.
Helpful Notes
-
Reconnecting Square does not interrupt existing orders or past transactions.
-
If you do not see a Location ID after reconnecting, repeat the reconnection steps to refresh the Square connection.
-
If you manage multiple Square locations, Zibster will automatically use the selected Location ID shown after reconnection.
-
Clients who experienced checkout issues prior to reconnection only need to refresh the checkout page and re-enter their payment information.
