How to Choose a Custom Image for Your Website Link on Facebook
When you share a link to your Zibster website on Facebook, the platform automatically chooses the first image on that page to display as the preview thumbnail. This is done through the Open Graph protocol, which is also used by other social networks like X (formerly Twitter).
If you want to display a different image as your preview, follow these steps:
IMPORTANT
Zibster isn’t affiliated with Meta or Facebook. Our Web Consultants are here to help you upload and place files for sharing on Facebook, but specific questions about Facebook advertising, tracking with Facebook Pixel, or other Meta Business functions are best handled by Meta’s Business Help section, which you’ll find in your Meta Business Suite.
STEP ONE
Update the first image on your website page.
Open your Zibster Website Builder and replace the first image on the page you plan to share. Facebook will use this as the preview image the next time you post the link.
STEP TWO
Clear Facebook's Old Preview Image
After you update your page, Facebook might still show the old image if it has stored it in its cache.
To fix this:
-
Go to the Facebook Debugger Tool.
-
Paste your page URL into the tool.
-
Click Debug to refresh Facebook’s stored information and show your new image.
