Blog post tags serve the primary purpose of categorizing your blog posts, making them highly beneficial for your readers. By using tags, readers can conveniently access specific types of posts that interest them without the need to sift through unrelated content. You can also utilize the internal website search tool with tags. Tags can consist of a single word or a phrase.
Consider a scenario where a blog offers posts that cover different topics such as movie reviews and sports. In this case, the content creator can tag their movie review posts with "movie reviews" and their sports posts with "sports." When a viewer visits the blog and is looking to see the latest updates on a new movie review, eliminating the need for information about sports, they can simply click on the pop culture tag or do a search for movie reviews. This allows them to effortlessly access all the relevant movie review posts without having to navigate past unrelated content.
This guide will walk you through the steps of adding tags to your blog posts to organize them by category and make them more friendly towards internal website search.
STEP ONE
Log into your Zibster account and click on the BLOG option in the left side menu.
STEP TWO
Create a new blog post or click on an existing blog post.
STEP THREE
Click on the ADD A TAG link at the top left of the blog post content.
STEP FOUR
Enter the tag you'd like to use on the blog post. You can add as many different tags as you wish. Click on Save Changes to add the tag you're using on the post.
You'll repeat this step for each tag you wish to use. If you've previously used a tag on another post, it will display in a drop down menu so you can easily use the same tag in multiple posts without having to enter it manually.
PRO TIP: Use tags that are relevant to the content of the blog post, this is important for making sure your articles, episodes, etc. you're showcasing on your website are organized properly when displayed or searched for.
STEP FIVE
If you've created a new post, the final step is to publish your blog article. If you're adding tags to an existing post that has been published, your article will update automatically to use the tag.
