How to Upload Video Files to Zibster
Overview
The Video Block in the Zibster Blog Post Builder allows you to add video directly to a new or existing blog post. You can embed a video from YouTube, Vimeo, or another video platform, or use a video uploaded directly to your Zibster Video Library.
If your video is already stored in Zibster, you can select it from My Videos without uploading it again. You can also choose + Add New Video from the Video Block to upload a new video to your account.
This guide walks you through adding a Video Block, choosing your video source, selecting or uploading a video, and saving it to your Zibster blog post.

What Your Customers Will See
When you add a video to your blog post, it appears within the post as a playable video.
Videos uploaded directly to Zibster use standard video player controls. Videos added with Embed Code use the player and controls provided by the external video hosting service.
Video Source Options
The Blog Post Video Block gives you two ways to add video content.
Embed Code
Use Embed Code when your video is hosted on an external video platform that provides code for embedding the video on another website.
Common examples include:
- YouTube
- Vimeo
- Other video hosting services that provide compatible embed code
A regular video URL and embed code are not necessarily the same. If your video does not display, check your video provider for an Embed or website-sharing option and copy the complete embed code.
My Videos
Use My Videos when you want to use a video stored directly in your Zibster account.
After selecting My Videos, click the CHOOSE A VIDEO dropdown. From there, you can:
- Select the file name of a video already uploaded to Zibster
- Click + Add New Video to upload a new video
- Reuse an existing uploaded video without uploading another copy
Videos stored in your Zibster Video Library can be used in Video Blocks in both the Website Builder and Blog Post Builder.
For more information about uploading and managing videos, see How to Upload Video Files to Zibster.
For information about using videos on regular website pages, see How to Use Video Blocks in Zibster.
Video Upload File Size and Format
Zibster supports the following video file formats:
- MP4
- WEBM
- MOV
Your Website Package supports individual video uploads up to 4MB. If you have the Original Files upgrade, you can upload video files up to 50MB.
If your video exceeds your account's upload limit, you can compress the file before uploading it. You can also host larger or longer videos through a service such as YouTube or Vimeo and add them to your blog post using Embed Code.
Title and Description
The TITLE and DESCRIPTION fields in the Video Block are optional.
You can use them to provide additional context for your video, such as:
- The name of the video
- Session or event information
- A short description of what viewers will see
- Additional information related to the blog post
If the surrounding content in your blog post already introduces the video, you can leave these fields blank.
Helpful Video Tips
Preview your completed blog post on both desktop and mobile devices. Make sure the video displays correctly, plays as expected, and appears in the intended location.
If an uploaded video is larger than your account's file-size limit, compress the video before uploading it or use an external video hosting service and select Embed Code instead.
When using an externally hosted video, make sure the video's privacy and sharing settings allow it to be embedded and played on other websites.
