How to Switch to the New DNS System (Amazon Route 53)
We’ve upgraded our DNS (Domain Name System) to Amazon Route 53, a fast, secure, and reliable service that helps your website run more smoothly.
There’s no additional cost to switch, and you’ll gain enhanced performance and stability by making this quick update.
This guide walks you through how to update your domain name servers to start using Amazon Route 53.
What You’ll Need
Before you begin, make sure you have access to the account where your domain is registered. This is usually your domain registrar (like GoDaddy, Google Domains, or Namecheap).
If you're currently using Zibster name servers with Rackspace, you won’t experience any downtime during the switch. Just follow the steps below.

Not Sure Who Your Registrar Is?
If you’re not sure where your domain is registered, follow these steps:
-
Enter your domain name (for example, yourdomain.com)
-
Click WHOIS
-
Look for the Registrar in the report — that’s the company where your domain is registered
Tip: If the registrar name doesn’t look familiar, look for a Reseller name instead — some domains are registered through third-party services.
STEP ONE
Log in to your Zibster account and click DOMAINS in the left-hand menu.
STEP TWO
If you are not already using Route 53 name servers, a notification will appear in your domain control panel.
STEP THREE
Check the box that says “Yes, move my DNS records to Route 53” and then click the Migrate Records button.
This will generate the new Amazon Route 53 name servers that you’ll need to enter in your registrar’s account.
FINAL STEP
Log in to your domain registrar account (where you originally registered your domain), and replace your current name servers with the four new name servers provided in your Zibster control panel.
Please Note: If your domain name is registered through Wix, please give us a call toll free at 1.844.353.3412 and we can go over your options with getting your domain pointed to your Zibster website.
