Zibster Mailbox DNS Records and Email Server Settings
Overview
Zibster Mailbox allows you to use a professional email address connected to your domain name. Your domain must have the correct DNS records before your mailbox can send and receive email successfully.
This guide provides the DNS records required for Zibster Mailbox. It also includes the incoming and outgoing email server settings needed to connect your mailbox to Apple Mail, Outlook, mobile devices, and other email applications.
Who Needs to Add These DNS Records?
If Zibster manages your domain’s DNS, the required Zibster Mailbox records are added for you. You do not need to add the records listed in this guide.
If your DNS is hosted by a third-party provider, such as Cloudflare, Wix, GoDaddy, or another domain service, you will need to add the records through that provider.
DNS providers may refer to this area as:
- DNS Management
- Manage DNS
- DNS Records
- DNS Settings
- Zone Editor
Zibster Mailbox DNS Records
Add the following records to the DNS zone for the domain connected to your Zibster Mailbox.
| Name or Host | Value or Destination | Type | Priority | TTL |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Blank or @ |
mx1.emailsrvr.com |
MX | 10 | 3600 |
Blank or @ |
mx2.emailsrvr.com |
MX | 20 | 3600 |
autodiscover |
autodiscover.emailsrvr.com |
CNAME | Not applicable | 3600 |
Blank or @ |
v=spf1 include:emailsrvr.com ~all |
TXT | Not applicable | 3600 |
_dmarc |
v=DMARC1; p=none; pct=100 |
TXT | Not applicable | 3600 |
If your DNS provider does not accept a blank Name or Host field, enter @. The @ symbol normally represents your root domain.
Most DNS providers automatically add your domain name to entries such as autodiscover and _dmarc. For example, after saving the record, your provider may display:
- autodiscover.yourdomain.com
- _dmarc.yourdomain.com
Enter the complete hostname only when your DNS provider specifically requires it.
Important SPF Information
Your domain should have only one SPF record.
If an SPF TXT record already exists, do not add a second SPF record. The existing record may need to be updated to include:
include:emailsrvr.com
Contact Zibster Support before changing an existing SPF record if it also authorizes other email providers or third-party services.
Important DMARC Information
The Zibster Mailbox DMARC record uses the following policy:
v=DMARC1; p=none; pct=100
The p=none setting is a monitoring policy. It allows receiving email providers to evaluate messages without instructing them to quarantine or reject messages that fail DMARC authentication.
Your domain should have only one DMARC record at _dmarc. If a DMARC record already exists, review it before replacing or changing it.
Important DKIM Information
DKIM helps receiving email providers verify that messages were authorized by your domain.
If Zibster manages your DNS, the Zibster Support Team can add the required DKIM records after DKIM is enabled for your mailbox.
If your DNS is hosted by a third-party provider, contact Zibster Support to have DKIM enabled. We will generate the required TXT records and provide them to you. You will then need to add those records through your DNS provider.
DKIM records are unique to your domain. Do not create your own DKIM records unless Zibster Support provides the exact names and values.
Zibster Mailbox Email Server Settings
Use the following settings when connecting your Zibster Mailbox to an email application or device.
Recommended Secure Settings
Secure IMAP is recommended because it keeps your email, folders, and read status synchronized across multiple devices.
| Server Type | Server Name | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incoming IMAP | secure.emailsrvr.com |
993 | SSL |
| Outgoing SMTP | secure.emailsrvr.com |
465 | SSL |
Use your complete Zibster Mailbox email address as the username. Enter the password created specifically for your mailbox.
Make sure authentication is enabled for the outgoing SMTP server.
Additional Supported Settings
| Server Type | Server Name | Port |
|---|---|---|
| IMAP | imap.emailsrvr.com |
143 |
| SMTP | smtp.emailsrvr.com |
25, 587, 8025, or 2525 |
| POP3 | pop.emailsrvr.com |
110 |
| POP3 with SSL | secure.emailsrvr.com |
995 |
Port 587 is generally preferred when port 465 is unavailable. Some internet providers and networks block SMTP port 25.
POP3 downloads messages to an individual device and may not keep folders, read statuses, and deleted messages synchronized. IMAP is recommended for most Zibster Mailbox users.
Helpful Notes
- DNS changes may take time to update across the internet.

- Use SSL whenever your email application supports it.
- Remove conflicting MX records from previous email providers unless another email service is intentionally being used.
- The autodiscover record helps supported email applications locate the correct server settings.
- DKIM records must be generated by Zibster Support.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
My DNS provider does not accept a blank host
Enter @ in the Name or Host field. This normally represents your root domain.
My DNS provider automatically adds my domain name
Enter only the host portion of the record. For example, enter _dmarc instead of _dmarc.yourdomain.com.
Entering the complete hostname when your provider automatically adds the domain could create an incorrect record such as _dmarc.yourdomain.com.yourdomain.com.
My DNS provider says an SPF record already exists
Do not add a second SPF record. Contact Zibster Support for help updating the existing record to include the Zibster Mailbox service.
I can receive email but cannot send it
Confirm that the outgoing server is set to secure.emailsrvr.com with port 465 and SSL enabled.
Make sure outgoing server authentication is enabled. Use your complete email address and Zibster Mailbox password.
I can send email but cannot receive it
Confirm that both Zibster Mailbox MX records are present with the correct priorities.
Conflicting MX records from a previous email provider may prevent incoming messages from reaching your Zibster Mailbox.
