How to Add a Discount to an Invoice in Zibster
With Zibster’s Quotes & Invoices tool, you can easily create professional invoices and apply discounts when needed. This guide walks you through how to add a discount as a line item on your invoice.
STEP ONE
Log into your Zibster account and click on QUOTES & INVOICES from the left-side menu.
STEP TWO
Click on INVOICES at the top center of your control panel.
STEP THREE
Create a new invoice, or search and click on the invoice number of the existing invoice you'd like to edit.
STEP FOUR
Click the EDIT button to start editing your invoice.
STEP FIVE
Click the NEW ITEM button to add a line item to your invoice.
STEP SIX
Enter the details for your discount:
- Item Name – Name your discount (example: “Discount” or “Spring Promo”)
- Description – Optional, but a short explanation is helpful
- Quantity – Enter 1
- Amount – Enter a negative amount, like -15.00, to subtract from the total
📝 TIP: To make sure sales tax is calculated correctly, set Taxable to YES for your discount item (if applicable).
Click ADD ITEM to save your discount to the invoice.
Once saved, the discount will show as a line item in your invoice list and will be clearly visible to your client when they view the invoice online.
What Your Client Will See
Your discount will apply as a line item in their invoice and deduct from the total amount due.
