How to Add Shipping Fees for Specific Countries in Zibster ECommerce
Overview
Add a Country Fee to a Zibster ECommerce shipping method when shipping to a particular country costs more than your standard rate. The fee is added to that method’s regular rate when a customer uses a matching shipping address at checkout.
Before you begin, create a shipping method in Zibster if you do not already have one.
STEP ONE
Log in to your Zibster account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.
STEP TWO
At the top of the ECommerce Dashboard, click PAYMENT, then click SHIPPING in the dropdown menu.
STEP THREE
The Shipping section displays the shipping methods you have created, along with their NAME, DESCRIPTION, RATE, and whether COUNTRY FEES are currently configured.
Click the name of the shipping method you want to update. If you do not have a shipping method set up yet, click NEW SHIPPING METHOD and create one before continuing.
STEP FOUR
After opening the shipping method, click COUNTRY FEES in the left-side menu. Any countries you have already added will appear here. If you have not configured any Country Fees yet, you will see No shipping countries found.
Click NEW SHIPPING COUNTRY to continue.
FINAL STEP
On the New Shipping Country screen, select the country you want to add from the COUNTRY NAME dropdown.
Enter the additional shipping amount you want to charge in the ADDITIONAL COST field, then click ADD SHIPPING COUNTRY.
After you save the fee, you will return to the COUNTRY FEES section. The country you added will appear in the list along with its ADDITIONAL COST.
If a customer selects that country as their shipping address during checkout and chooses this shipping method, Zibster automatically adds the Country Fee to the shipping total.
Repeat this process for any other countries that require an additional shipping charge.
How Country Fees Affect Shipping Totals
A Country Fee applies when the customer’s shipping address matches the country you configured and the customer selects the shipping method containing that fee.
For example, if the shipping method rate is $20 and its Country Fee for Canada is $25, the shipping total is $45. Selecting a different shipping method will not apply that fee.
A product may also have an Additional Shipping charge. If the selected shipping method includes that charge, it is added alongside the applicable Country Fee. For example, a $20 method rate, a $25 Canada Country Fee, and a $5 product Additional Shipping charge produce a $50 shipping total.
You can also use a shipping method with a $0 rate if you want applicable Country Fees or product Additional Shipping charges to determine the shipping charge. Learn how to add an Additional Shipping charge to a product.
Managing Country Fees
Country Fees are set separately for each shipping method. If you want the same fee on multiple methods, add it to each one.
To remove a Country Fee, open the shipping method’s COUNTRY FEES section, select the checkbox beside the country, and click DELETE.
Country Fees do not calculate customs duties or import fees. Enter the additional shipping amount you want to charge for each country.
Test Your Shipping Fee
Add a physical product to your cart and enter a shipping address in the country you configured. Select the shipping method containing the Country Fee and check the shipping total before accepting live orders.

Why isn’t the Country Fee appearing at checkout?
Check that the customer’s shipping address matches the configured country and that they selected the shipping method containing the fee.
Does the Country Fee replace the shipping method’s regular rate?
No. It is added to the regular rate.
Can I set different fees for different countries?
Yes. Add each country to the shipping method and enter its ADDITIONAL COST.
Can I use Country Fees with a $0 shipping method?
Yes. An applicable Country Fee can be added to a shipping method with a $0 rate.
