How to Add an Additional Shipping Charge to a Product in Zibster ECommerce
Zibster ECommerce allows you to manage shipping in two ways:
- As an overall shipping method for your store
- As an additional shipping charge on individual products that require extra handling due to size, weight, or packaging needs
You may want to apply an additional fee for items such as large framed prints, heavy products, or specialty merchandise that costs more to ship.
This guide will show you how to add an extra shipping charge to a single product.
STEP ONE
Log into your Zibster account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.
STEP TWO
At the top of your ECommerce control panel, click PRODUCTS.
STEP THREE
Click on the product you want to edit to open its settings or create a new product.
Good To Know: If you have multiple categories or pages of products, you can use the search bar to enter the name of the product you want to edit to easily locate it in your control panel.
FINAL STEP
Scroll down to the Additional Shipping field. Enter the extra amount you want to charge for shipping this specific product, then click Save Changes.
The additional shipping fee will automatically be applied whenever this product is purchased.
Additional Options / Helpful Notes
- The additional shipping fee is applied per item. If a customer purchases multiple quantities, the extra fee applies to each unit.
- This fee is added on top of any shipping method selected at checkout. Even if a free pickup option is available, the product’s additional fee will still be charged.
- You can edit or remove the additional shipping charge at any time by returning to the product settings.
