Google Analytics is a free website traffic analysis tool that integrates into your Zibster website. Google Analytics will analyze the traffic on your website and show you data on how users interact with your website pages. The data provided by Google Analytics is great for measuring how effective your website content is working for you, how users arrive on your website, and more. This guide will show you where to place your Google Analytics tracking code on your Zibster website. Google Analytics is also frequently used with Google Search Console, another free tool that Google offers that integrates with Zibster websites and allows you to get information on how your website is performing specifically with Google's search engine.
If you prefer to have our Search Engine Optimization Experts install these services for you, that is included with the SEO Go service in the initial optimization portion of the service.
Please Note: Zibster is not affiliated with Google. Our Support Team can show you how to install your Google Analytics tracking code but for questions specifically about Google Analytics functionality, you'll want to refer to Google Analytics Help.
You'll need to sign up for Google Analytics before you can add the tracking to your Zibster website. Once you sign up for Google Analytics, Google will provide you with a Global Site Tag which is your tracking code. You will copy the code from Google Analytics and the following steps will show you where to paste the code in your Zibster website builder.
STEP ONE
Log into your Zibster account and open your Website Builder.
STEP TWO
Click on Tracking at the top of your Zibster Builder.
STEP THREE
Paste your Google Analytics tracking code into the HEAD section and click SAVE CHANGES. This completes the installation of your Google Analytics tracking on your website. Generally, Google Analytics takes 24-48 hours to begin providing data on your website traffic.
Pro Tip: If your tracking code is installed properly, it will not be visible on the page. Be sure to check your website once you've installed it to ensure no tracking code is displaying at the top of your page.
Once your Analytics tracking code is added to your site, you can access your Google Analytics control panel. On your Analytics Dashboard, you will see an overview of your traffic. You can adjust the date range in the top right-hand corner. The dashboard will show you:
- Users
- New users
- Engagement time
- Page views
- Country users are coming from
You can see where the people visiting your site are coming from, such as social media, Google search results, or typing in the domain to the address bar.
