How to Set Up ChatGPT to Help Manage Your Zibster Account
Overview
ChatGPT can help you write website content, develop marketing ideas, and complete supported tasks in your Zibster dashboard. To work directly in your dashboard, ChatGPT needs browser access and the appropriate permissions. This guide explains how to install the ChatGPT desktop app, connect Google Chrome, and configure access for tasks involving files on your computer. Once setup is complete, you can request assistance from the desktop app or the ChatGPT side panel in Chrome.
Before You Begin
You’ll need a ChatGPT account, access to your Zibster account, and a computer that supports the current ChatGPT desktop app.
This guide uses Google Chrome. Available browser controls and permission settings depend on your ChatGPT app version and organization settings.
You can ask ChatGPT to draft content without connecting your browser. The setup below is for assistance involving your Zibster dashboard or local files.
ChatGPT is a third-party service provided by OpenAI. Zibster is not affiliated with OpenAI.
STEP ONE
Install the ChatGPT Desktop App
Visit OpenAI’s ChatGPT desktop app setup page and follow the download and installation instructions for your computer.
Open the app and sign in with your ChatGPT account. If you already have the app installed, update it before continuing.
STEP TWO
Update Google Chrome
Open GOOGLE CHROME.
Click the THREE-DOT MENU in the upper-right corner, then click HELP and ABOUT GOOGLE CHROME.
Allow Chrome to check for updates. If prompted, click RELAUNCH to finish installing them.
For additional assistance, visit Google’s guide to updating Chrome.
STEP THREE
Connect Chrome to ChatGPT
In the ChatGPT desktop app, open SETTINGS, then click COMPUTER USE.
Select GOOGLE CHROME and follow any prompts to install the required browser plugin.
Click INSTALL beside Chrome to open the extension’s store page. Click ADD TO CHROME, review the requested permissions, then click ADD EXTENSION.
Return to COMPUTER USE. Confirm Chrome now shows MANAGE, indicating that browser setup is complete.
STEP FOUR
Pin the Extension
In Chrome, click the EXTENSIONS icon near the upper-right corner.
Find CHATGPT, then click its PIN ICON.
The ChatGPT icon will remain visible in your toolbar for easier access.
STEP FIVE
Enable Local File Uploads When Needed
Complete this step if you want ChatGPT to upload images or other files from your computer.
In Chrome, open the EXTENSIONS menu and click MANAGE EXTENSIONS. Find ChatGPT and click DETAILS.
Turn on ALLOW ACCESS TO FILE URLS. This setting allows the extension to access local files for uploads. If you already started an upload task, start it again after changing this setting.
STEP SIX
Choose Your Action Permissions
In the ChatGPT desktop app, start a WORK chat. Click the permissions control below the message box to review the available modes.
For general assistance, start with ASK FOR APPROVAL. This lets ChatGPT work within the current workspace and request approval before reaching beyond that boundary.
If you choose FULL ACCESS, review your prompt, folder location, and requested actions before starting. Full access grants unrestricted access to the internet and files on your computer. This setting is broader than permission to use your Zibster website.
Confirm which mode is selected for the current chat. Having an option available does not mean it is active. Available modes may be restricted by your app or organization.
STEP SEVEN
Open Your Zibster Account
In Chrome, visit www.zibster.com and log in.
Enter your password directly on the Zibster login page.
Keep your dashboard open in the Chrome profile where you installed the ChatGPT extension.
FINAL STEP
Start Your First Browser Task
In the desktop app, select Chrome from the @ menu and describe the task. Alternatively, click the CHATGPT toolbar icon to open its side panel.
Review any website-access request before continuing.
For a simple first task, try:
Review the Zibster dashboard page I have open and tell me what section I’m viewing. Do not make any changes.
Once ChatGPT can identify the page, your browser connection is ready. For tasks that make changes, check your Zibster dashboard afterward to confirm the results.
Spend Less Time.
Ways ChatGPT Can Help
Write Website Content
Ask ChatGPT to draft homepage introductions, About pages, service descriptions, or other website text.
Example prompt:
Write a welcoming homepage introduction for my landscaping business in Greensboro, North Carolina. Keep it friendly, clear, and inviting.
Develop SEO Content
ChatGPT can suggest page titles, meta descriptions, headings, and content ideas. Review its suggestions to confirm they accurately describe your business.
Example prompt:
Suggest an SEO title and meta description for my interior design services page in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Plan Blog Posts and Marketing
Use ChatGPT to brainstorm blog topics, outline articles, and draft social media posts or marketing emails.
Example prompt:
Give me five blog post ideas that help homeowners prepare for a kitchen renovation.
Assist With Dashboard Tasks
With browser access, ChatGPT can attempt supported tasks directly in your Zibster dashboard. Give it clear instructions about what to change and what result you expect.
For tasks involving local images or a CSV file, provide the correct files and folder location. Adjust example paths such as Desktop > website-images > [Folder Name] to match your computer.
Browser access alone does not confirm that a task has been completed. Review the resulting settings, content, and uploads in Zibster.
Can ChatGPT Make Changes to My Zibster Website?
ChatGPT can help you create website content, answer questions, and plan updates without direct access to your Zibster account.
With supported browser interaction features, ChatGPT may also be able to navigate your Zibster dashboard and perform certain actions on your behalf. Installing the Chrome extension does not automatically authorize access to your website. Browser interaction depends on your ChatGPT account, enabled features, website permissions, and requested task.
Keep these points in mind:
- Enter your Zibster password directly into the login page, not into a ChatGPT conversation.
- Review website-access requests before continuing.
- Avoid sharing sensitive client information, payment details, or other confidential information unnecessarily.
- Review content and website changes before approving important actions.
- Check your Zibster dashboard to confirm requested changes were completed correctly.
ChatGPT can occasionally provide incorrect or outdated information. Always verify important account settings and website changes.
Troubleshooting
ChatGPT Cannot Connect to Chrome
Keep the desktop app open. In SETTINGS, open COMPUTER USE and confirm Chrome shows MANAGE.
Restart the app and Chrome, then try a new Work chat. Check that you are using the Chrome profile where the extension is installed.
ChatGPT Cannot Upload Local Images
Check ALLOW ACCESS TO FILE URLS in the extension’s details. Confirm that your prompt points to the correct folder and that the requested files exist there.
Start the Chrome task again after updating the setting. For tasks requiring files from your computer, use the connected Chrome workflow described in this guide.
Full Access Is Missing
Available permission modes vary by app version, environment, and organization settings. Review OpenAI’s permission documentation for current guidance.
ChatGPT’s Instructions Do Not Match Zibster
Ask ChatGPT to reference the Zibster Knowledge Base and the dashboard currently open.
If it takes an unexpected action, stop the task and review your account before continuing.
