How to Add or Update Site Links on Your Zibster Website
Overview
Site Links give visitors quick access to important information and actions on your Zibster website. You can use them for contact buttons, phone numbers, email addresses, forms, directions, products, Scheduler services, Mood Boards, and other destinations.
Depending on your website template, Site Links may appear in the header, footer, or another designated area. This guide explains how to create, update, test, and delete Site Links in the Zibster Website Builder.
STEP ONE
Log in to your Zibster account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu. The Website Builder will open automatically and display your website pages.
STEP TWO
Scroll below your website pages in the left-side panel, and then click SITE LINKS / ICONS.
The SITE LINKS & ICONS panel will open on the right side of the Website Builder.
STEP THREE
The SITE LINKS & ICONS panel lists your existing Site Links. Each row displays the link’s TYPE, LINK TO selection, LABEL, and VALUE.
Click NEW SITELINK to create a new Site Link.
To update an existing Site Link, click its row in the list to open its settings.
STEP FOUR
Select an option from the TYPE menu to control how the Site Link appears on your website.
Depending on the selected type, you can customize its colors, choose an icon, or enter the text visitors will see in the LABEL field.
The available settings change based on the selected type. See the Site Link Type Options section below for more information.
STEP FIVE
Select a destination from the LINK TO menu. Additional settings will appear based on your selection.
Complete the displayed fields to choose the specific page, form, product, service, phone number, email address, or other destination.
See the Link To Options section below for an explanation of each selection.
FINAL STEP
Click CREATE LINK to add the new Site Link. If you are updating an existing Site Link, save your changes after editing its settings.
The Site Link will automatically appear in the location assigned by your website template. Click VIEW SITE at the top of the Website Builder and test the Site Link to confirm that it appears and opens the correct destination.
There is no separate publishing step.
Site Link Type Options
The TYPE setting determines how the Site Link appears on your website. You can select from the following options:
- BUTTON: Displays the Site Link as an outlined button. You can customize the button’s text color, border color, and label.
- ICON ONLY: Displays a clickable icon without a text label.
- TEXT AND ICON: Displays a clickable icon and text label together.
- TEXT ONLY: Displays a clickable word or phrase without an icon.
The selected type determines which color, icon, and label settings are available.
Link To Options
The LINK TO setting determines what happens when a visitor clicks the Site Link. Available options include:
- NONE: Displays the Site Link without assigning a destination or action.
- EXTERNAL LINK: Opens another website or an external web page.
- PAGE: Opens a page on your Zibster website. You can link to the top of the page or select a specific block to take visitors directly to that section.
- FORM: Opens a form created in your Zibster account.
- MARKETING: Opens a selected Marketing item from your account.
- FILE: Opens a PDF, image, or another file stored in your account.
- PHONE: Creates a click-to-call link for the entered phone number.
- EMAIL: Opens the visitor’s default email application with your email address entered as the recipient.
- ADDRESS: Opens the entered location in Google Maps.
- VIDEO: Displays a YouTube or Vimeo video in a pop-up window.
- POP-UPS: Opens a selected website pop-up.
- PRODUCT: Opens a selected ECommerce product.
- SERVICE: Opens a selected ECommerce service.
- SCHEDULER SERVICE: Opens a selected Scheduler service.
- MOOD BOARD: Opens a selected Zibster Mood Board.
Some options require existing content in the corresponding Zibster tool. For example, you must create a product before you can select it as a PRODUCT destination.
How to Delete Site Links
Open SITE LINKS / ICONS and make sure SITE LINKS is selected.
Select the checkbox beside each Site Link you want to remove, and then click DELETE.
You can select the checkbox in the heading row to select every Site Link in the list. Review your selections carefully before deleting them.
Helpful Notes
- The location and appearance of Site Links depend on your website template and design settings.
- The SITE LINKS & ICONS panel also includes separate sections for SOCIAL MEDIA and SEARCH / CART settings.
- Use short, descriptive labels that remain easy to read on desktop and mobile devices.
- Existing Site Links are identified by their TYPE, LINK TO selection, LABEL, and VALUE.
- A PAGE destination can link to the top of a page or a specific block on that page.
- Test each Site Link after creating or updating it. Pay close attention to external website addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, and files.
- Changes are applied when you create or save the Site Link. There is no separate publishing step.
