To make your existing domain name work with your Zibster site, you need to have your domain name servers pointed to our Data Center. Below are instructions on how to change your name servers with Netfirms.
Note: Changing your name servers does not transfer your domain registration. You will need to keep your domain current with your current registrar.
IMPORTANT EMAIL NOTE:
- If you have domain-based email (i.e. info@mydomain.com), please send your email provider's MX records to our Support Team BEFORE you change your name servers (the next step). If you change your name servers before we have your email's MX records set up on our servers, your email will go down. Your email will be restored within 2-24 hours after your MX records have been added to our servers.
- If you don't have domain-based email and you would like it, we recommend Zibster Mailbox. Click here for more information about Mailbox.
- Login at netfirms.com
- In the menu, click on Domains
- A drop-down will appear. Click on Domain Manager.
- Click on the domain you wish to edit.
- It drop open up a menu. Click on the Security Tab.
- Make sure that the domain is set to UNLOCKED.
- Click on the DNS tab.
- You will see spaces for Name servers. Clear out the nameservers that are there.
- Enter these nameservers:
ns.rackspace.com
ns2.rackspace.com
- Click on Modify.
If you need assistance with this or any aspect of your Zibster account, you can reach our Support team at 1-844-353-3412 Monday-Friday from 9am to 6pm USA Eastern Time.
