How to Display Blog Posts by Tag on Your Zibster Website

Overview

The Zibster Website Builder includes a Blog Block that allows you to display published blog posts on different pages of your website. By using tags to organize your blog content, you can create dedicated pages that display posts about specific topics, services, or categories.

For example, you can create separate pages for business tips, company news, events, tutorials, or other topics relevant to your audience. Each page can use a Blog Block filtered by one or more tags, allowing visitors to find content that interests them.

This guide explains how to add a Blog Block to a page, filter your published blog posts by tag, and customize how those posts are displayed.

STEP ONE

Log into your Zibster account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens your Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content blocks.

STEP TWO

Click the page where you want to display blog posts by tag.

You can use an existing page or create a new page for a specific topic. For example, you could create a page called Business Tips that displays only blog posts related to that subject.

If you're creating multiple topic-specific pages, you can repeat this process for each category you want to feature on your website.

STEP THREE

Locate the BLOG Block in the right-side block options.

Click the BLOG Block to add it to the bottom of your page, or drag it into the position where you want your blog posts to appear.

The right-side panel will open, allowing you to choose a blank or predesigned Blog Block layout.

Select the layout you want to use. If you choose a blank layout, click the block to open its settings.

If your page already contains a Blog Block, click the existing block to open its settings instead.

For additional customization options, see How to Use Blog Blocks.

STEP FOUR

In the Blog Block settings, locate CHOOSE THE POSTS TO DISPLAY ON THIS BLOCK.

Select DISPLAY ALL POSTS TAGGED WITH to filter the blog posts displayed in this block.

Enter the tag you want to use, then click ADD TAG. If you've previously used that tag, it will appear in the dropdown, allowing you to select it.

You can add multiple tags to the same Blog Block. When multiple tags are selected, the block displays published posts that match any of the selected tags.

For example, selecting the tags Business Tips and Marketing will display posts containing either tag.

Important: Your blog posts must have the corresponding tags and be published before they can appear in the filtered Blog Block.

If you haven't added tags to your blog posts yet, see How Do I Tag Blog Posts?.

STEP FIVE

Choose how your filtered blog posts will be displayed.

Under the Blog Block settings, you can select the following options:

  • MOST RECENT: Displays your blog posts based on their publishing dates, with the newest posts first.

  • MOST POPULAR: Displays posts based on popularity.

  • PUBLISHING DATE: Controls whether the publishing date appears with your blog posts.

The Blog Block layout also determines how your posts are arranged on the page. Depending on the selected layout, you can adjust the number of rows and columns displayed.

Once you've selected your preferred settings, click SAVE CHANGES.

FINAL STEP

Review the Blog Block on your website to confirm that the correct posts are displayed.

Your page will now display published blog posts that match the tags you've selected.

As you publish new blog posts using those same tags, they can automatically appear in the corresponding Blog Block based on your selected sorting and layout settings.

You can repeat these steps on additional website pages to create separate collections of blog content organized by topic.

What Your Website Visitors See

When visitors open a page containing a filtered Blog Block, they'll see the published posts that match your selected tags.

Visitors can click a blog post to open and read the full article.

For example, if you create a page called Company News and configure its Blog Block to display posts tagged Company News, visitors will see those posts rather than your entire blog collection.

If you use multiple tags, visitors will see posts matching any of the selected tags.

The number of posts visible at one time depends on your selected Blog Block layout and its display settings.

Helpful Notes

  • Use consistent tags: Use the same tag for posts about the same subject so they appear together in the appropriate Blog Blocks.

  • Use multiple tags: A blog post can have multiple tags, allowing it to appear on more than one topic-specific page.

  • Create dedicated topic pages: You can use separate website pages and Blog Blocks to organize different areas of your blog.

  • Published posts only: Draft and unpublished blog posts will not appear in your Blog Blocks.

  • Customize your layouts: You can change your Blog Block layout without recreating your blog posts.

  • Manage additional posts: The Blog Block's Last Item Link settings allow you to display a Load More option or link visitors to another destination.
