How to Get a Direct Link to an ECommerce Product in Zibster
Overview
Every Zibster ECommerce Product has its own dedicated page where customers can view product details and make a purchase. You can share a direct link to an individual product without requiring customers to browse through a Products Block on your website.
Direct product links are useful for email marketing campaigns, promotional landing pages, social media, custom HTML buttons, and sharing specific products with customers.
Zibster offers two ways to link directly to an ECommerce Product:

Direct Product URL: Create and verify your product's public URL to share in emails, social media, external websites, or custom HTML.

Zibster Link Picker: Link a Zibster button or another supported website element directly to an ECommerce Product without manually entering a URL.
Important: This guide covers products created in Zibster ECommerce. Your product must already exist before you can link to it.
Option 1: Get the Direct URL for an ECommerce Product
Need an actual URL to copy and share? Use this method to create and verify the direct link to an individual Zibster ECommerce Product for emails, social media, external websites, or custom HTML.
STEP ONE
Locate Your ECommerce Product
Log in to your Zibster account and click ECOMMERCE from the left-side menu.
Hover over SELL ONLINE and click PRODUCTS from the drop-down menu.
Locate the ECommerce Product you want to share and identify its name.
For example, your product might be named Fine Art Canvas Print.
STEP TWO
Start With Your Website URL
Start with your website's domain name followed by:
/product-page/
For example:
https://www.yourdomain.com/product-page/
Replace www.yourdomain.com with your actual website domain.
Important: The /product-page/ path is the URL structure used for individual Zibster ECommerce Products. Use the singular product-page, not products-page.
STEP THREE
Add Your Product Name
Add your product name to the end of the URL, replacing spaces between words with hyphens (-).
Example Product Name:
Fine Art Canvas Print
Example Direct Product URL:
https://www.yourdomain.com/product-page/Fine-Art-Canvas-Print
This gives you a direct URL to test for your individual ECommerce Product.
Please Note: The product name provides a starting point for constructing the URL. Products with special characters, previously changed names, or different URL formatting may use a different URL slug. Always verify that your completed URL opens the correct product.
FINAL STEP
Verify Your Direct Product Link
Copy your completed product URL and paste it into a new browser tab.
Confirm that the correct ECommerce Product page opens and displays the product information.
Make sure the product is active and available for purchase.
Once you've verified the link, you can copy and share it in emails, text messages, promotional campaigns, social media posts, custom HTML, or other marketing materials.
Helpful Tip: Test your link in a private or incognito browser window to confirm that customers can access the product without logging in to your Zibster account.
Option 2: Link a Zibster Button Directly to an ECommerce Product
Adding a button to your Zibster website? Use the built-in Link Picker to connect your button directly to an ECommerce Product without manually creating or entering its URL.
STEP ONE
Open Your Website Builder
Log in to your Zibster account and click WEBSITE from the left-side menu.
Open the page containing the button or other supported element you want to link to your product.
STEP TWO
Select Your ECommerce Service
Open the settings for your button or supported element and locate LINK TO.
Click the LINK TO drop-down menu and select SERVICE from the available link destinations.
Under CHOOSE A SERVICE, select the category containing your service, then select the individual ECommerce Service you want customers to access.
Important: Select SERVICE for services sold through Zibster ECommerce. The SCHEDULER SERVICE option is for appointment-based services created in the Zibster Scheduler Dashboard.
FINAL STEP
Save and Test Your Link
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your link.
Open your website and click the button to confirm it directs customers to the correct ECommerce Product.
Your button is now connected to the selected product without requiring you to manually enter its URL.
Please Note: The Link Picker creates a direct connection to your product but does not provide a URL for you to copy. If you need the actual URL for an email, external website, or custom HTML, use Option 1.

What Your Clients See
When customers click a direct ECommerce Product link, they are taken to the individual product page on your Zibster website.
Depending on how you've configured the product, customers can:

View the product name, description, images, and pricing.

Review available product options, such as sizes, finishes, or other variations.

Select applicable purchase options and quantities, subject to product availability.

Add the product to their shopping cart and proceed through checkout.
How Your Product Page Is Displayed
The appearance of your individual ECommerce Product pages is controlled by the Product Detail Page Layout settings in your Zibster Website Builder.
These settings determine how your product information, images, pricing, and purchase options are arranged on the page.
The same Product Detail Page Layout applies whether customers access a product through a direct URL, a Zibster button, or a Products Block.
You can customize the layout without changing the direct URL for your product. Changes to this shared layout affect the individual product detail pages on your website.

Important: Customers do not need to browse through a Products Block to reach an individual product page. They can open the direct link and proceed with purchasing, provided the product is active and available for purchase.

Where Can I Use a Direct ECommerce Product Link?
Once you've verified your product URL, you can use it in several places, including:

If you're using a native Zibster button, the Link Picker is generally easier because you can select your product directly.
If you're adding custom HTML to your Zibster website, you can use the verified product URL as the link destination.
Please Note: Zibster Support can assist with using the HTML Block and verifying Zibster product links. However, creating, editing, or troubleshooting custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript falls outside the scope of Zibster Support.
Do I Need a Products Block to Share an Individual Product?
No. A direct product link allows customers to access an individual ECommerce Product without navigating through a Products Block.
If you want customers to browse multiple products on your website, you can add a Products Block and choose which products to display.

Understanding ECommerce Product Canonical URLs
Zibster automatically manages canonical URLs for ECommerce Products.
A canonical URL identifies the preferred version of a page when the same content can be accessed through multiple URLs.
For individual ECommerce Products, the canonical URL follows the /product-page/ structure.
When sharing a direct link, using the verified canonical product URL is recommended.
You do not need to configure canonical tags manually.
Do Products Need to Be Active and Available for Purchase?
Yes. A product must be active and properly configured for customers to purchase it.
Product availability also depends on your ECommerce configuration, including applicable pricing, inventory tracking, and required product options.
If customers can open your product page but cannot complete a purchase, review the product's active status, pricing, inventory availability, and required product options.

Troubleshooting Direct ECommerce Product Links
If your manually constructed product URL doesn't open the correct page, check the following:

Website Domain: Confirm that you're using the correct domain for your Zibster website.

Product Page Path: Make sure your URL includes
/product-page/(singular), not/products-page/. -
Product Name: Check the product name and URL formatting, including hyphens and special characters.

Product Availability: Confirm that the product is active and available for purchase in your ECommerce dashboard.

Public Access: Open the URL in a private or incognito browser window to confirm that customers can access it.
If your link displays a 403 error, access to the requested URL is being denied. This does not automatically mean that direct product links or custom HTML links are unsupported.
If the issue continues, contact Zibster Support with the name of your ECommerce Product and the exact URL you're trying to use.
