How to Track if a Client Opened an Email Sent from Zibster Mailbox
Zibster Mailbox does not automatically track when emails are opened. The only way to know if a client has opened an individual email is by using the Request a Read Receipt option when sending emails through Zibster Mailbox webmail. This article explains how to request a read receipt and what to expect after your email is opened.
By the end of this guide, you will understand how to request a read receipt, what your client sees, and where to find confirmation if the email is read.
This article applies only to emails sent manually from Zibster Mailbox.
If you are looking to track engagement for email marketing campaigns, those are managed separately and do not use mailbox read receipts.
STEP ONE
Log into your Zibster Mailbox via webmail at:
https://mailbox.zibster.com
STEP TWO
Click COMPOSE MAIL from the mailbox toolbar to open a new message window.
STEP THREE
In the New Message window, click MORE in the toolbar, then select REQUEST A READ RECEIPT.
STEP FOUR
Confirm that the message indicates it will be sent with a read receipt request.
You can now finish composing your email and click SEND when ready.
What Your Client Will See
When your client opens the email, reads it, and closes the message, they may be prompted to send a read receipt back to you.
Sending the read receipt is optional.
If the client chooses not to send it, no confirmation will be returned.
FINAL STEP
If the client agrees to send the read receipt, you will receive a confirmation email in your inbox showing the date and time the message was opened.
This confirmation email is the only indication that the email was read.
