How to Verify Your Domain with Google Search Console (When Zibster Manages Your DNS)
Google Search Console is a free tool that helps you track how your website appears in Google search results. Before you can start using it, you’ll need to verify that you own your domain.
If your domain’s DNS is managed by Zibster (using AWS Route 53 name servers), you can add the required verification record directly from your Zibster account.
Follow the steps below to verify your domain using the TXT method.
PLEASE NOTE:
This process is only available for domains using Zibster's Route 53 DNS. If your domain is still using legacy name servers, DNS editing will not be available in your account.
STEP ONE
Log In to Google Search Console
-
Go to Google Search Console.
-
Select the Domain option (not URL Prefix).
-
Enter your domain name (example: yourdomain.com) and click Continue.
-
Google will now generate a TXT record you’ll need to add to your domain settings.
STEP TWO
Copy the TXT Verification Record
-
You’ll see a TXT record that looks like this:
google-site-verification=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-
Click COPY next to the record so you can paste it into Zibster.
STEP THREE
Log In to Zibster and Open DNS Management
-
In a new browser tab, log in to your Zibster account.
-
From the left-hand menu, click DOMAINS.
STEP FOUR
Find your domain in the list and click MANAGE DNS next to it.
(This option will only appear if your domain uses AWS Route 53 name servers.)
STEP FIVE
Add the TXT Record to Your DNS Settings
-
Click NEW DNS RECORD.
-
Set the Record Type to TXT.
-
In the Name field, enter
@
or leave it blank. -
Paste the TXT value from Google into the Value field.
-
Click SAVE.
Reminder: DNS changes usually take effect within a few minutes, but full propagation may take up to 48 hours.
STEP SIX
Return to Google Search Console and Verify
-
Go back to your Google Search Console tab.
-
Click VERIFY.
-
If the TXT record has propagated, you’ll see a confirmation message that your domain is verified.
STEP SIX (Optional but Recommended)
Submit Your Sitemap to Google
Once your domain is verified, help Google index your content more efficiently:
-
Click Go to Property in Google Search Console.
-
In the Sitemaps section, submit the following:
sitemap.xml
– for your full websiteblog-rss
– if you’re using Zibster’s blog feature
This step makes it easier for Google to discover your website pages and blog posts.
