Submitting your website sitemap to Google Search Console is the best way to let Google know the layout of your website's pages and when you've made updates. The Zibster Website Package automatically generates an .XML sitemap for you as you make changes to your website. Adding your sitemap to Google Search Console allows you to track when Google last crawled your website. This guide will walk you through the steps to submit the sitemap for your Zibster website to Google using Google Search Console.
Important Note: After setting up your sitemap with Google Search Console, Google will automatically crawl it regularly to check for updates and new content. However, the frequency of this crawling is determined by Google.
STEP ONE
Open another tab or browser window and verify your domain name with Google Search Console or log into your Google Search Console account.
First, you need to verify your website with Google if you haven't already. To do so, log in to https://search.google.com/search-console and create a URL PREFIX Property.
STEP TWO
Submit Your Sitemap to Google Search Console
After you've verified your domain, click on SITEMAPS in the menu on the left-hand side of your Google Search Console account.
STEP THREE
Type in `sitemap.xml` in the Add a new sitemap section and then click the SUBMIT button.
When your sitemap has been successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation screen.
You'll also be able to see when you submitted your sitemap, the last time Google crawled it, and which pages in your blog have been discovered.
