How to Find Your XML Sitemap in Zibster

Overview

Your Zibster website automatically includes an XML sitemap that is generated and updated in real time. This sitemap helps search engines like Google and Bing discover and index your website pages.

You do not need to manually create, update, or manage your sitemap. As you add, remove, or edit pages in your Website Builder, Zibster automatically keeps your sitemap up to date for you.

This guide shows you where to find your sitemap URL and explains how it works.

What Is an XML Sitemap?

An XML sitemap is a file that lists the pages on your website so search engines can easily find and understand your content.

How Your Sitemap Works

Your XML sitemap is fully automated and requires no manual setup.

Here’s how it functions:

  • Only pages set to Visible are included in your sitemap
  • Pages set to Hidden are excluded from the sitemap
  • The sitemap is based on the domain connected to your Zibster website
  • Each page includes a canonical tag pointing to the https://www version of the URL to prevent duplicate indexing
  • Your sitemap updates automatically whenever you add, remove, or edit pages
  • You cannot manually edit your sitemap, Zibster manages everything for you

STEP ONE

Log into your Zibster account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This will open your Website Builder.

STEP TWO

Click TRACKING at the top of the Website Builder.

This section allows you to manage scripts, integrations, and view your sitemap.

FINAL STEP

Locate your sitemap URL in the Tracking section.

You can copy this URL and submit it to search engines like Google or Bing to help improve your website’s visibility in search results.

Do You Need to Submit Your Sitemap?

Submitting your sitemap is optional, but recommended.

Search engines can often find your website on their own, but submitting your sitemap through tools like Google Search Console can help your pages get discovered and indexed more efficiently.

What Your Sitemap URL Looks Like

Your sitemap will typically follow this format:

https://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name.

Additional Options / Helpful Notes

  • Only pages set to Visible will appear in your XML sitemap
  • If you want a page indexed but not shown in your navigation, keep the page set to Visible and place it inside a navigation dropdown that is set to Hidden
  • Your sitemap is automatically maintained by Zibster and never needs to be regenerated

Troubleshooting

My page is not in the sitemap

• Make sure the page is set to Visible in the Website Builder
• Confirm the page has been published
• Allow time for search engines to re-crawl your site

My website is not showing on Google

• Indexing can take time (from a few days to several weeks)
• Make sure your domain is properly connected
• Submit your sitemap through Google Search Console for better visibility
